Lake Titicaca

Beautiful Lake Titicaca is world’s highest navigable lake, at an altitude of 3,800 metres. The lake is home to a number of islands, with distinct indigenous communities, cultures and customs.

Home to the Uro people, the floating reed Uros Islands are particularly fascinating due to the fact they are man-made using totora reeds which grow in the lake and need replacing every three or so months.
