Combine awesome scenery and adventure in the beautiful country of Nepal. Stretch your legs on a mini-trek in the Himalayas – an expedition into the hills with an overnight stay near a spectacular lookout. Spend time visiting traditional Nepali villages, try whitewater rafting on the Trisuli River* and explore the jungle at Chitwan National Park by jeep. You’ll see sunbathing crocodiles, rhinos, tigers and an abundance of birdlife.

Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Depart UK
Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Kathmandu.

Day 2: Arrive Kathmandu
On arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the group hotel in Bhaktapur and will have some free time to relax and adjust to your new surroundings, as well as taking an orientation walk of the town and bazaar.

Days 3-4 : Walking tour of old Bhaktapur, pottery making, Kathmandu Valley
Explore Bhaktapur on a walking tour and visit a town of artisans called Patan City. Walk to the market place, a centre-piece of Nepalese life and a UNESCO World heritage site, and visit a traditional village.

Day 5: Trisuli Rafting, onto Bandipur
Take a scenic drive down to the valley of the Trisuli River. In the afternoon you can take a guided walk along the river past quiet villages or go white-water rafting. Continue to the mountain town of Bandipur.
Note: Our December itinerary does not include Trisuli rafting.

Day 6: Bandipur
Take a scenic hike to the largest cave in Nepal enjoying beautiful scenery along the way. Inside the cave you can see bats and ancient carvings.

Day 7: Continue to Pokhara
Continue westward to the town of Pokhara, where your hotel sits on an island on the lake with panoramic views of the Annapurna mountains. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to relax and explore.

Day 8: Annapurna foothills walk to teahouse
Set off with your porters and Sherpa along a trail through charming villages in the Annapurna foothills, after which you’ll stay in a local teahouse and enjoy sunset views across the Himalayan foothills.

Day 9: Himalayan sunrise, walk to Pokhara
After enjoying sunrise views of the Himalayas, descend to Phewa Tal, the lake at Pokhara, stopping at a small village en route. Enjoy some free time in the afternoon to prepare for a Nepali party to which all your trekking staff and some children from the local area are invited.

Days 10-11 : Chitwan National Park: wildlife viewing
Drive to Chitwan National Park, which lies at the foot of the Himalaya and is the habitat of the Bengal tiger, the rare Asian rhino and other wildlife. In the afternoon go out on a ‘rhino watch’ safari to hopefully encounter this awesome mammal at close quarters.
On the following day, take dug-out canoes to see sunbathing crocodile and birdlife that thrive in these floodplains. Explore the nature trails on foot, seeking out bush buck, spotted deer, monkeys and more. In the afternoon, there will be a jeep safari, exploring more of the park.

Day 12: Drive to Kathmandu
Today we drive from Chitwan National Park to Kathmandu. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours.

Day 13: Fly back to the UK
Transfer to Kathmandu Airport for your flight back home.
