The highlight of your journey will almost certainly be the desert landscape of Wadi Rum, where the family can discover an astounding wilderness on a jeep safari and by camel before stargazing from a Bedouin-style camp. Snorkel between the colourful coral in exotic Aqaba before spending your final day spent floating in the Dead Sea.
Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Amman
Arrive at Amman Airport and meet at the hotel in Madaba. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and explore the surroundings.

Day 2: Visit ancient Roman city of Jerash
Visit the famous 6th century mosaic map in Madaba and then continue to Jerash. Look around the hippodrome and learn about the Roman and Greek influences in the Roman provincial city.

Day 3: Visit Mt Nebo & Kerak Crusader castle
Drive to Mount Nebo, the biblical resting place of Moses, overlooking the Promised Land. Drive along the King’s Highway, through hilly countryside to the market town of Kerak. Explore its magnificent castle, built by crusaders in the 12th century, before continuing to Petra.

Day 4: Full Day visit to Petra with walks
Enter the hidden world of the ancient Nabateans as you explore the rose-red city of Petra with your guide. Follow the narrow gorge as it twists and turns through the mountains and enjoy dramatic views as you emerge onto the great plaza in front of Petra’s most famous monument, the Treasury. See the 7,000 seat outdoor theatre, climb up to the Ad-Dayr Monastery or relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the temples and tombs.

Day 5: Drive to Bedouin camp at Wadi Rum
Visit Beida, also known as Little Petra, and continue south to the protected area of Wadi Rum, where you’ll head out for your night in a Bedouin-style camp, in tents or under the stars.

Day 6: Drive to Aqaba on the Red Sea coast
There will be an optional camel ride before leaving the wadi for a short journey to Aqaba, Jordan’s Red Sea resort. Your time is free to relax or enjoy optional activities on offer – take a boat trip on the Red Sea, visit Aqaba Fort and the Marine Aquarium or simply relax.

Day 7: King’s Highway to the Dead Sea
Leave Aqaba and stop at Araba en route to the Dead Sea Spa Resort in time for lunch and your overnight stop. The Dead Sea marks the lowest point on the surface of the earth and is famous for its minerals and natural healing powers. Float in the water, enjoy the water-slide complex and try an optional treatment such as a massage followed by a mud pack.

Day 8: Fly back to UK
Transfer to Amman Airport for your flight back to the UK.
